Identification checks
If an offer is accepted on a property marketed by Miles & Barr, all purchasers are required to complete ID verification checks. This is a legal obligation under Anti-Money Laundering Regulations. We use a specialist third-party company to carry out these checks. The fee is £60 (including VAT) per person or £120 (including VAT) if purchasing under a company name, payable once the offer is agreed and before the sales memorandum is issued. Please note that this charge is non-refundable.
Location Summary
Rough Common is a popular village with easy access to Whitstable and the A2/M2. There is a local village shop and several primary and secondary schools are also within walking distance. Blean Nature Reserve is also close to the property with plenty of dog walks and nature paths for family days out. Canterbury city centre is just 1.9 miles away and has a wealth of cultural and leisure amenities, excellent schools, a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants and good road and rail links. These include The King's Mile, Whitefriars Shopping Centre, Canterbury Christ Church University and The Marlowe Theatre. The University of Kent, with its own cinema and theatre, is just over a mile away from the property, to the North of Canterbury.
There are good road links with the A2 providing access to the channel port of Dover, Canterbury and the M2. The two mainline railway stations offer fast and frequent services with the high speed link from Canterbury West to London St Pancras (approximately 56 mins). 'The Riverside' which is situated on the other side of the Great Stour River boasts Curzon's 5 screen cinema as well as restaurants and bars that wrap around the new public square that overlook the river.
