Identification Checks
Should a purchaser(s) have an offer accepted on a property marketed by Miles & Barr, they will need to undertake an identification check. This is done to meet our obligation under Anti Money Laundering Regulations (AML) and is a legal requirement. We use a specialist third party service to verify your identity. The cost of these checks is £60 inc. VAT per purchase, which is paid in advance, when an offer is agreed and prior to a sales memorandum being issued. This charge is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Location Summary
Petham is a delightful village found approximately 5 miles from Canterbury city centre and has a bus route into the city. Petham also has its own primary school, church and village hall. Much of the countryside is an area of outstanding natural beauty, ideal for walks and cycling. Canterbury offers a wide variety of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. The area also boasts a number of highly regarded schools in both the public and private sectors including grammar school and is home to both the University of Kent and Christ Church University.
Canterbury also offers numerous sporting and leisure facilities including golf at Scotland Hills and County Cricket at the Spitfire Ground St. Lawrence. In addition, the Marlowe Theatre, the spectacular Beaney House of Art & Knowledge and the Gulbenkian (theatre, cinema and café bar) at the University of Kent, all provide a wealth of excellent entertainment.
Canterbury also has two mainline railway stations with Canterbury West offering a high-speed service to London St. Pancras in under an hour. The A2 dual carriageway is easily accessible providing links to the Port of Dover and Brenley Corner at Faversham giving access to the M2 Motorway or to the East via the Thanet Way to the East Kent coastal towns.
